My intro to F5B began about 10years ago,when the Limbo was part of the challenge.The model i used was a Simprop Rabbit on 10 X 1000mAh Nicads, using an Ultra 930/8 Direct Brushed. I achieved an impressive 12 Legs and with a 38second motor run on the duration,for Mike Seal to say it must have broken all records.

Came back probably in 2002, with a Plettenberg Brushless + G/Box on 12 cells.Progress a lot better,but not by much.

Finally bit the bullet and went with a Legal Open model,a Retro F5B Vintage using 24 X 1700mAh cells and a Hacker B50 9M.Also flew a Simba and a Sirius.With the improvement in NiMh's,changed to 24 X 1950mAh FAUP's.Then again to 16 X 3000 - 3700GP's with a Hacker B50 6M.

2years ago replaced all the round cells for Lipo 4S and 6S to use with both the Hackers.Personal best is an unofficial 36 Legs on the practice day.I usually achieve low 30's,although doing that on 3S lipo now.Fly a variety of secondhand hand me downs to lesson the finanancial stress.

Probably return to 4S or Crazy 5S Lipo this year.Models for the year...Surprise 14,Twister,and gotta get that new Raketenwurm out the box.(2yrs now in the attic)Use Neu motors now.
