Dick Whitehead

Electrical Engineer - Started flying control line models in the early 60s while still at school. Moved to radio control in 1984 because I wanted to try electric flight.

I started flying F5B in 1988 with an own design model powered by a Geist brushed motor and 10 nicads, then moved on to open F5B (27 nicads) in 1989 and flew both classes until mid 90s. Too much work forced me to have a break for a few years but I came back to help with the F5B/D World Champs at York in 2004 and got hooked again.

My biggest contribution to the UK F5B scene recently has been to build a limiter testing device . I need to practice more!

My Surprise 13

Below are 'Karma' an own design fun flyer, and 'Kaiten' an own design F3A type (both electric of course).
